Two charity pickleball events are taking place this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, and Loveland, Colorado. If you’re an animal lover or wish to support a charity for low-income parents, show your support and go along to attend.
Music City PicklePaw Classic
Approximately 300 participants will vie for top honors in the third annual Music City PicklePaw Classic scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday, October 21 and 22.
Friends Of MACC
This pickleball competition will be held at The Centennial Sportsplex, 222 25th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37203, and serves as a fundraiser for the volunteer-driven charitable organization Friends of MACC.

This nonprofit supports homeless animals and Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC). Contestants hail from various parts of the country, with some even joining from Canada, as noted by Ashley Harrington, the director of MACC.
Adopt A Dog
The funds generated will be directly allocated towards critical services, including emergency medical care after regular hours, provisions for animal well-being, PetPanty food, foster supplies, and an array of other necessities.

Additionally, attendees may have the opportunity to adopt a dog during the event. Harrington shared an anecdote of a long-term stay dog from a previous year who found a forever home with one of the beverage vendors present.
Notably, there will be dogs available for potential adoption at the event.
To participate in the pickleball tournament, interested individuals can register for a fee of $75. The PicklePaw Classic encompasses both doubles and mixed doubles matches.

The Pickleball Classic
Meanwhile, the Fort Collins Foothills Rotary Club is organizing a pickleball event in Loveland, Colorado, over the weekend to raise funds for a group dedicated to aiding low-income single parents.
Project Self-Sufficiency
The Pickleball Classic will take place at The Picklr in Loveland, with proceeds going towards Project Self-Sufficiency, a local nonprofit focused on empowering single parents toward economic independence and self-reliance.
Rotary Club member Mark Goldrich emphasized their history of collaboration with Project Self-Sufficiency and their intent to support the cause further. The choice of pickleball as a fundraising activity was spurred by its inclusive nature.
“There doesn’t seem to be any typical divisions you get in a lot of sports. We thought it would be an ideal event,” he said.
He said they have already seen some fundraising success ahead of the event and expect to raise around $35,000 for the nonprofit by the end of it: “We love opportunities where we can help people who can help themselves.”
The Picklr
The event is expected to accommodate up to 126 participants at The Picklr, located at 3137 N. Garfield Ave., with a suggested donation of $50.
Two sessions will be held on Saturday, commencing at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, ensuring widespread participation.

While the event doesn’t operate as a formal tournament, winners of the nine courts will be honored with trophies. Goldrich emphasized that the Rotary Club aims to assist those striving for self-sufficiency.
Anticipation surrounds an estimated $35,000 in funds to be raised for the nonprofit through this event.
