The Association of Pickleball Players (APP), in collaboration with USA Pickleball (USAP), has announced the first three opportunities to secure a coveted “Golden Ticket” to the 2025 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships. Players can stake their claim at the upcoming 2024 APP Tour events in Dallas (October 9-13), Newport Beach (October 23-27), and Boca Raton (November 6-10).
“Path To Nationals”
Ken Herrmann, the founder of APP, was proud to announce the initial “Path to Nationals” offerings for pickleball enthusiasts nationwide. He stated, “The APP is proud to offer pickleball fans across the nation the very first opportunities on the ‘Path to Nationals’ in 2025, with three this fall. “We’re excited to build on our partnership with pickleball’s National Governing Body and look forward to hosting more world-class events to help APP players achieve their goal of competing at the USA Pickleball Nationals in 2025.”
Jose Moreno, USA Pickleball’s chief marketing and strategy officer, echoed Herrmann’s statements, emphasizing the exceptional quality, player experience, and competition offered by the APP Tour. Moreno affirmed, “We are thrilled to continue working with the APP Tour in 2025, designating three of their events as Golden Ticket tournaments.
“The APP has been a fantastic partner, and their tournaments provide an extremely high caliber of quality, player experience, and competition. These three tournaments across the country will serve as fantastic stops along the Path to Nationals next year.”

Open To All Players
The opportunity is open to players of all ages and skill levels who clinch a gold medal at the USA Pickleball Golden Ticket-designated events.
The APP Tour’s return to Texas will be marked by the APP Dallas Open, commencing the late fall season. Subsequently, the tour will revisit Newport Beach for the 2024 APP Southern California Open before concluding with the APP Boca Raton Open in November.
A Significant Milestone
In other APP news, Fort Lauderdale commemorated a significant milestone in sports history as community leaders and the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) broke ground for “The Fort” earlier this month. This groundbreaking ceremony signals the commencement of construction for the cutting-edge global pickleball hub, scheduled to open in December 2024.
Through its collaboration with The Fort, the APP establishes the first-ever official headquarters and training center for pickleball. Situated within the expansive 93-acre Snyder Park, adjacent to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, this world-class facility will encompass 43 courts and the inaugural pickleball stadium. It underscores the APP’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering pickleball’s growth across all levels.

Ken Herrmann was on hand and said, “We are honored to be here in Fort Lauderdale and make our mark in pickleball history. The APP now embarks on its most exciting chapter yet with a global headquarters and a place where pickleball players of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds can call home.
“The Fort will be the absolute best in pickleball, and we’re grateful for our friends at The Fort for their continued support of the world’s first and world’s best pickleball tour.”
