Scottsdale, Arizona, is set to become a prominent hub for pickleball in the United States as PURE Pickleball™ and CaliberCo have revealed plans for a joint venture to construct one of the largest pickleball facilities in the world, as well as the largest in Arizona.
USA Pickleball Training Center
PURE Pickleball™, a new venture in the pickleball venue sector, will establish its inaugural facility on an 11-acre parcel near Talking Stick Resort & Casino in Scottsdale, AZ, with an anticipated opening in the fall of 2024.
Notably, this development will also serve as the official headquarters and training center for USA Pickleball, the sport’s governing body in the United States.
The co-founders of PURE Pickleball™ have formalized a venture agreement with Caliber, an Arizona-based real estate management and development company, for this ambitious undertaking.
Financial specifics of the agreement, including anticipated construction costs, have not been disclosed.
Pickleball Demand Exceeding Expectations
According to Brian Snider, Caliber‘s Senior Vice President for Real Estate, “The demand for pickleball continues to exceed all expectations.
“We are very excited to be a part of this project and believe there is strong interest in the opportunity to invest in such a promising venture. We see opportunity for growth in this concept nationwide.”
Construction Process
The construction process will be carried out in stages. Phase 1 will encompass the creation of 28 generously sized indoor pickleball courts, each equipped with cutting-edge court technology, private enclosures, and video camera setups for match streaming or recording.
At the heart of the indoor section will be the “Championship Court” – a 500-seat stadium with broadcasting capabilities for televised matches.
Additional facilities indoors will encompass a pro shop, café, separate locker rooms for men and women, and exclusive event spaces.
As part of the phased development strategy, PURE and Caliber will also incorporate a state-of-the-art clubhouse, 16 outdoor courts featuring professional-grade lighting, a members’ clubhouse complete with a restaurant and bar, two rooftop courts, locker rooms for members, a comprehensive gymnasium, as well as childcare and after-school tutoring services.
