The newly unveiled pickleball venue and dining establishment Pickle Haüs is poised to set a new standard in the new concept of “eatertainment.”
Scheduled for a grand opening on November 17, 2023, this expansive 41,000-square-foot facility is located in Algonquin, near Chicago, Illinois.
Dual Focus
The premises encompass 12 indoor pickleball courts, complemented by a refined restaurant, a bar, two golf simulators, private event facilities, and an inviting outdoor dining area.
The Pickle Haüs leadership team emphasizes a dual focus on top-tier pickleball courts and a robust food and beverage program, with the aim of nurturing a sense of community and delivering exceptional experiences to patrons.
Co-founder Jeff VanDixhorn articulates the vision: “At Pickle Haüs, we are intentionally creating a community where people can actively socialize and enjoy playing pickleball.”
A Robust Network
This vision is supported by a robust network of partners committed to furnishing the best-in-class resources, equipment, and services to enhance the Pickle Haüs experience.
To realize this ambition, Pickle Haüs has enlisted renowned brands and vendors, with a preference for local Chicagoland collaborators whenever feasible.
Among the key contributors are Joola USA, a leading sports equipment brand providing a range of high-quality paddles and accessories; Wilson Sporting Goods, a locally headquartered enterprise serving as the exclusive golf vendor; Backlot Coffee, a Chicagoland roastery crafting a custom Pickle Haüs blend; West Town Bakery, a local bakery offering signature pastries and sweets; Full Swing, the preferred golf simulator of Tiger Woods, offering an immersive experience for players of all levels; Club Automation, a local software company delivering backend technology for court reservations and bookings; and Toast’s cloud-based restaurant management software, deployed to support restaurant operations.
Surging Popularity
The emergence of Pickle Haüs reflects the surging popularity of pickleball across the nation, substantiated by its status as the fastest-growing sport in the United States.
With an impressive 85 percent player growth in 2022 and a national player base exceeding 36 million, pickleball’s prominence is unquestionable.
Seymour Rifkind, founder of the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association and 2023 inductee into the Pickleball Hall of Fame, notes the pivotal role of Pickle Haüs in the local pickleball landscape.
“Pickle Haüs fills a much-needed space for local pickleball. The development of a high-end facility like Pickle Haüs, and the enthusiasm we’re hearing from local players, is a testament to the explosive growth of the sport,” Rifkind stated.
