A recent news release has revealed that Crush Yard, a new pickleball and eaterie establishment in a suburb of Charleston, South Carolina, has attracted some notable investors and expanded its executive team.

“Gronk” And “McNasty”

Among the new investors are Rob Gronkowski, a Super Bowl champion, and his brothers, along with NFL luminaries such as AJ Green and Brian Dawkins, who will also serve as brand ambassadors for Crush Yard.

In a strategic move, Matt “McNasty” Manassee, renowned as a pickleball coach to the stars, notably training Emma Watson for the CBS “Pickled” tournament, has been appointed as Crush Yard’s chief brand ambassador.

Visitors to Crush Yard can look forward to seeing and working with Manassee when the attraction opens in Mount Pleasant next year.

An Enticing Experience

Dan Levine, an IPTPA Certified Level II Pickleball Pro, will assume the role of director of pickleball and head pro at Crush Yard.

In his capacity as director, Levine offers private and group lessons, oversees leagues and tournaments, and assists guests with custom equipment fittings, including the rental and purchase of USA Pickleball pro and tournament-certified TMPR paddles, available onsite.

Crush Yard promises an enticing experience with elevated pub fare and a self-serve tap system featuring beer, wine, mixed drinks, and, of course, pickleball.

Healthy And Indulgent Dishes

Executive Chef Brandon Buck has crafted a menu of healthy and indulgent dishes that’ll keep you coming back for more.

The attraction has forged partnerships with Holy City Brewing and One Nation Coffee, offering a unique microbrew named Dinker’s Delight and serving custom coffee in-house while selling grounds for take-home.

Two Membership Options

Crush Yard features two membership options:

Yard Membership provides discounts on court reservations, equipment rentals, and specific retail purchases, along with unlimited soft drinks and food purchase credits.

Crush Membership encompasses all Yard Membership benefits, free unlimited rentals, enhanced discounts, exclusive access to members-only open play hours, and early reservation privileges for courts, clinics, tournaments, and camps.

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.
