Just because you’re sleeping in a hotel tonight, doesn’t mean you can’t satisfy your pickleball itch. At least one major hotel chain has embraced the pickleball craze, installing courts at six of its lodgings.
Hilton has installed pickleball courts at six of its U.S. hotels. According to the hotelier, the company’s 2023 Hilton trends report stated that wellness remains a priority for travelers, with more than 25% of respondents saying that fitness amenities like sports centers or activities are important to them when traveling this year.
It makes sense, then, that Hilton would offer pickleball courts. After all, a growing number of guests at these hotels will be pickleball fans. The addition of courts will improve the stay of these guests.
Where can you play pickleball if you are staying at a Hilton hotel?
The Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton in The Woodlands, Texas, about 30 miles from Houston, offers 21 courts dedicated to outdoor and indoor pickleball play. The hotel also boasts two certified pickleball instructors on staff.
At the La Quinta Resort & Club, Curio Collection by Hilton in La Quinta, California, guests can play on eight pickleball courts. The hotel offers lessons, clinics and open play time.
The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Phoenix, opened four pickleball courts in 2022. Pickleball professionals offer group instruction or private lessons. The Biltmore even features weekly pickleball round-robin match play.
If you’re traveling to New Orleans, considering staying at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. This hotel is home to a 100,000-square-foot Health Club by Hilton that includes three indoor pickleball courts. The health club also features indoor tennis, racquetball, squash, volleyball and basketball courts.
In Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Amway Grand Plaza Curio Collection by Hilton features pickleball courts on its fourth-floor rooftop. You might stop here even if you’re not in the mood for a pickleball game: The hotel earned ranking as one of the 10 finest hotels in the country in 1925.
Then there’s the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Florida. This hotel offers six pickleball courts and 12 HydroGrid clay and three hard tennis courts. The hotel also holds its own round-robin tournaments.
