It looks like the pickleball bug has definitely bitten one of Hollywood’s premier power couples. Singer Jennifer López and actor Ben Affleck spent the Independence Day holiday out in the Hamptons and were snapped enjoying a game of pickleball on a public court in Sag Harbor.
A Strictly Casual Affair
TMZ reported it was a strictly casual affair, with only one of the high-profile pair appearing to take the game too seriously:
“Let’s just say Jen looked a little more engaged (and dressed for the occasion) than her hubby. She’s out there in straight-up tennis gear, and Ben’s in… jeans and a tee.
“He also comes across as a little more lackadaisical here, half-heartedly using his paddle – but hey, they’re playing against young’ns. Can’t really knock the dude for takin it easy.”
A Half-Hearted Approach
Ben’s half-hearted approach may have had something to do with the pair having attended a “white party” the night before at the home of Michael G. Rubin, the businessman and philanthropist. Rubin is the CEO of Fanatics, a major world player in licensed sports merchandise.
Although TMZ described López’s attire as tennis gear, it was hardly that, as she was wearing denim shorts and a camisole top with an unbuttoned white shirt over it!

The pair were joined on court by 11-year-old Samuel and 17-year-old Violet – Affleck’s son and daughter by ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Emme Maribel Muñiz, López’s daughter by singer Marc Antony was also present.
Affleck and López looked in a jovial mood and even hugged and raised their arms in mock celebration after a winning shot at one point.
Hollywood Hills
The superstar couple might have gotten the pickleball bug after recently moving into a property containing pickleball facilities.
The Dink reported last month how the couple had bought a large house in the Hollywood Hills shortly after they remarried. Apart from having a 38,000 ft2 footprint, it has 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a boxing ring, a home gym, and, best of all, a huge indoor pickleball court.
