New Jersey, Texas, and Georgia are the locations of major pickleball developments that have just opened or are in the process of doing so. Indeed, the complex in New Jersey will be the largest in the state, according to the owners.
Wayne, New Jersey
A Long Island-based proprietor of fitness centers and racket clubs has announced plans to unveil the largest indoor pickleball facility in New Jersey next year at a local shopping complex, the company revealed.
The forthcoming 50,000-square-foot arena, situated on the third floor of Willowbrook Plaza at 77 Willowbrook Boulevard, will feature 20 courts, including a stadium-style one. Designed to accommodate national tournaments, the facility will also boast amenities such as a concession stand and provisions for corporate gatherings.
Sportime Clubs, headquartered 51 miles east of Manhattan, made the announcement regarding the new establishment in a statement issued on Tuesday. The grand opening is scheduled for spring 2025.
Claude Okin, Sportime Clubs’ chief executive officer, said the facility will serve “ever-growing masses of pickleball lovers” and many others who will join “those legions” in the coming years. “We’re proud to be a racket sports leader in our region since 1994,” he added.
The Wayne facility represents a strategic expansion for Sportime Clubs, coinciding with the announcement of 13 additional pickleball courts at the Merrick Avenue Athletic Center in Westbury, New York. The company aims to have a minimum of 12 pickleball centers operational by the conclusion of 2027.

Montgomery, Texas
In Montgomery, Texas, Pickleball Hideout has recently commenced operations, according to co-owner Stacy Woyton. Offering indoor pickleball courts, the establishment prioritizes a comfortable playing environment devoid of weather-related interruptions.
“No heat stroke, no rainouts, no wind delays, just a fun time playing,” Woyton told Community Impact. “Beyond that, we love to grow the sport locally, especially among our youth, as we are seeing professional team competition explode across the country.”
Woyton, one of eight Montgomery County residents behind the venture, emphasized their commitment to fostering local interest in the sport, particularly among youth:
“Once we started getting serious about this business venture, we sought out the best lot for the business,” Woyton said. “We wanted to be central to everything. Plus, so many others don’t have access to pickleball courts that we felt the area is underserved.”
The facility, located at 18952 Freeport Drive, offers six indoor pickleball courts accessible from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., with reservations facilitated through the CourtReserve app. Additionally, Pickleball Hideout provides instructional classes, open play sessions, and event hosting services.
