In exciting times for pickleball enthusiasts, we can announce that two manufacturers have announced the release of new paddles, sure to drive players wild with anticipation.
ONIX Open Throat
Onix has released two new pickleball paddles that look set to raise the bar of paddle design. The ONIX Malice Open Throat DB Composite Pickleball Paddle features a mighty carbon fiber Power Frame that increases power and gives you that extra oomph when you need it the most.
Its double bridge with a rubber insert and the high-density foam-filled tennis-style handle are highly effective dampeners and keep vibration to a minimum.

The polypropylene honeycomb core insert gives you an improved feel and response, while the hot melt process using their patented thermofused technology keeps the product faithful to its initial design and meets USAPA specifications.
All this is packed into a composite-faced paddle weighing only around 8 oz.
The paddle is 16″ long with a face width of 8″ and a handle length of 5″. The grip circumference measures 4.25″.
Their second new paddle, the ONIX Malice Open Throat Composite, boasts similar features and dimensions but lacks the double bridge (DB), so it will not be quite so effective at removing vibration. This is reflected in the prices, with the DB costing $249 and the non-DB $229.
Bread & Butter Pickleball Co.’s Filth
B&BP Co. describes the paddle as a top-of-the-line choice for pickleball players seeking to raise the standard of their game. It combines a raw T-700 carbon fiber face with a “perfect balance of durability, touch, and power.” The frame is thermoformed with a high-density polypropylene 16mm core.
The edges and handle feature an injected foam insert extending the sweet spot while eliminating vibration and providing added stability.
The USAPA-approved Filth weighs around 8 oz and is 16.5″ long. It has a 5.5″ long grip of 4.25″ in circumference. Its octagon-shaped handle includes a vibration-dampening wrap.
Despite it not being publicly available just yet, the manufacturer’s page already includes one five-star, purchase-verified review from “Brodie S.” They say, “The Filth paddle is incredible. It is a premium paddle with amazing control, spin, and an all-around comfortable feel. You genuinely cannot go wrong with it. I would recommend it to anybody, especially your serious pickleballers out there looking to compete at a high level.”
