The APP has announced its 2023 APP Tour schedule update, introducing the groundbreaking APP U.S. Indoor Championships.

Prestigious Tournament

This prestigious tournament will be hosted from November 29 to December 3 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

For those eager to participate, player registration for the 2023 APP U.S. Indoor Championships is now open on pickleballbrackets.com.

This event welcomes amateurs of all ages and skill levels to compete alongside the sport’s elite professionals in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.

The 2023 APP U.S. Indoor Championships is the sole indoor event on the 2023 APP Tour calendar. It marks a significant moment as the APP returns to its hometown and stands as the second APP Tour event in the Chicago metropolitan area this season, following the recently concluded 2023 APP Chicago Open.

Pickleball United True Courts

The competition will unfold on Pickleball United’s renowned True Courts and feature a centerpiece Championship Court.

APP Founder Ken Herrmann said, “We’re thrilled to bring another APP Tour event to our hometown of Chicago in 2023 with our first-ever APP U.S. Indoor Championships.

“This is an exciting new event for us, one we will continue to develop and grow over the coming years.

The ever-increasing demand from pickleball players across Illinois and the Midwest has been remarkable, and we can’t wait to host another packed house in Chicago.”

Special Significance

Additionally, this event carries special significance as it serves as the culminating stop of the AARP Masters Division action on the 2023 APP Tour – an event designed for professionals aged 60 and above.

For attendees looking to enhance their experience in Rosemont, there’s a plethora of holiday season activities to enjoy, including ice skating at Parkway Bank Park, enchanting festive lights at Impact Field, and vibrant entertainment options at Allstate Arena and the Rosemont Theatre.

Stay tuned for forthcoming announcements regarding broadcast coverage and ticket details.

The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is located at 5555 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018.

Rosemont is a short hop from downtown Chicago, lying about 14 miles northwest.

“True Courts”

Pickleball United’s innovative Rollable Acrylic Pickleball Court – the True Court – represents a groundbreaking development designed to emulate the authentic feel of an acrylic court.

Crafted to suit the sport’s fast pace, Pickleball United’s rollable surface has undergone rigorous testing to display its remarkable qualities of consistent bounce, superb cushioning, and an unparalleled playing experience.

Ken Herrmann

Ken Herrmann is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience in the tennis and pickleball industry. He is the Founder and Head of International & Player Development for the APP Tour, the world’s premier pickleball tour.

He was a professional tennis player in the 1980s and 1990s but is now a certified pickleball instructor and has taught the sport for over 20 years.

As well as being the president of the Association of Pickleball Professionals, he is the managing owner of Glenbrook Racquet Club in Chicago, Illinois.

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.
