APP And USAP Announce “Golden Ticket” Tournaments For 2024 National Championships

The Association of Pickleball Players (APP), in partnership with USA Pickleball (USAP), has declared that its upcoming APP Tour events in Sacramento and Miami will serve as auto-qualifier events. 

These tournaments will grant gold medal winners a coveted “Golden Ticket,” allowing them to pre-register for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships. 

Diamond Amateur Championship

The tournaments in California and Florida will mark the initial announcement of the Golden Ticket events, which will culminate in the premier USAP National Championships.

USA Pickleball recently wrapped up its second annual Diamond Amateur Championship, presenting 250 recipients with these coveted Golden Tickets.

“Extra Level Of Excitement”

Ken Herrmann, the Founder of APP, stated, “We’re delighted that the 2024 APP Sacramento Open and APP Miami Open will be ‘Golden Ticket’ events, as these auto-qualifier opportunities have been some of our most popular tournaments. 

“I am pleased to know that the 2024 USAP National Championships will be run by the national governing body and provide talented players the national platform they deserve. We look forward to the extra level of excitement in Sacramento and Miami, especially now that the opportunity for national recognition is on the line.”

Mike Nealy, CEO of USA Pickleball, acknowledged the APP’s reputation for delivering exceptional experiences to pickleball players across all skill levels. He remarked, “The APP is rightly renowned as providing pickleball players of all levels with an exemplary experience at their tournaments, thus fully justifying designating a number of their events as Golden Tickets. 

“We’re looking forward to seeing the APP return to Sacramento, and we’re excited to see the Miami event, as the first APP Tour Major of the year, taking place in a truly iconic city.”

APP Atlantic Cup

For those players aspiring to a gold medal and a guaranteed spot at the USAP National Championships, registration is currently open for the APP’s Golden Ticket events on PickleballBrackets.com.

The 2024 APP Miami Open, a five-day indoor tournament, marks the inauguration of four APP Tour Majors in the new year. Commencing on March 20, this tournament will include the inaugural APP Atlantic Cup — a historic event that pitches Team USA against Team Europe, marking the first-ever international team competition for pickleball professionals. 

Held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event promises to be a world-class outdoor pickleball tournament experience within a climate-controlled environment. 

Detailed event information, encompassing team rosters, will soon be disclosed on theapp.global.

2024 Sacramento Open

Prior to its South Florida engagement, the APP returns to Northern California for the 2024 APP Sacramento Open. Scheduled from March 6-10, this event will take place in suburban Roseville at the Johnson Ranch Sports Club Pickleball Complex, which contains an impressive 24 dedicated pickleball courts.

Kicking off its 2024 campaign on January 3-7 in Westfield, Indiana, the APP Midwest Open will exclusively cater to amateurs. Additionally, the event will host the APP U.S. Collegiate Championships—a debut event featuring pickleball teams and players from top colleges nationwide.
