The Glendale Valley in Arizona can now boast a major new pickleball facility courtesy of The Pickleball Space. The courts are located at 5665 W. Bell Road, with the grand opening held at 8 a.m. on December 26th.

Grand Opening

The 30,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility will feature 10 courts and a refreshment area providing coffee and ready-to-eat meals. This location also features a Pickleball Pro Shop, where players can buy or rent gear.

John Solema, Director of Development And Programs, told Nicole Guttierez of abc15.com, “We are thrilled to bring the Glendale community a welcoming space for players of all skill levels to experience the game of pickleball.

“Our vision is to deliver a warm and dynamic sense of community at our venue and to be a space where the game of pickleball can thrive.”

Academy Lessons

If you are a beginner, fret not, this place has an “Academy” with lessons starting at $30. Classes include group, private, semi-private, and small-group formats for players of all skill levels.

The Pickleball Space will be hosting a two-day Grand Opening Charity Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21.

According to a release, 50% of the proceeds will benefit the C4 Foundation. The foundation provides resources and support to active-duty Navy SEALS and their families. Click here for more information on the tournament.

“We invite all to experience The Pickleball Space and its incredible features,” said Co-Founder Kali Broderick in a release to ABC15. “This tournament is just the beginning of our efforts to forge connections and community bonds through the love of pickleball.”

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.

Improve your game and stay connected to the sport you love.
