Fenway Park in downtown Boston will organize a professional and amateur pickleball tournament later this year. The event will provide Bostonians with an opportunity to participate in and watch the fastest-growing sport in the county in one of its most iconic sporting venues.
Pickleball4America
The competition is a part of the Pickleball4America Ballpark Festival Series™ featuring pro-am tournaments. Pickleball4America is a new company focusing on growing businesses centered around pickleball. It has made several announcements recently after its merger with the US Open Pickleball Championships® help last month in Naples, FL.
Organizers, including the marketing section of Fenway Sports Group who own the Red Sox, gave some idea of how the festival will look, with Mark Lev, FSG Management President commenting:
“People will have the opportunity to play and have access to hospitality, and there will likely be some sort of a commemorative gift they will receive as well.”
Fenway Park Outfield
The event will consist of 12 pickleball courts constructed on the Fenway Park outfield at a time the Red Sox are out of town. It is understood that players and organizations will then be able to rent the courts.
The Ballpark Festival Series™ has also announced a similar event to be held at San Francisco’s Oracle Park.
It is only one of several major pickleball events happening this year, click here to read our story about North Carolina’s event happening this weekend!
