The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) announced the creation of the Humana Cup, a team-format competition for pickleball professionals aged 50 and over, back in December last year.
A First-Of-Its -Kind Competition
The cup tournament, named after the health insurance provider, is a first-of-its-kind team competition for pickleball professionals. There are two divisions: champion pros (ages 50 and over) and master pros (ages 60 and over). You can read more about the Humana Cup here.
With January’s Punta Gorda, Florida, event and this month’s Champion Tour Pros Sacramento, California, tournament over, we can now concentrate on the next APP Tour event featuring Humana Cup matches: the 2024 APP Vlasic Classic at Delray Beach, Florida, from April 3 to 7.
The five-day event will feature high-level competition for amateurs, with a substantial prize pool at stake for the professional category. The 2024 APP Vlasic Classic will cater to various skill levels, from 3.0 through 5.0, including those playing at the professional level, across diverse age categories.

- May 22 to 26: APP Tour in New York, N.Y. (Major; Champion Tour Pros Only)
- August 28 to September 1: APP Tour in Chicago, Ill (Champion Tour Pros Only)
- October. 23 to 27: APP Tour in Southern California (Major)
- December 11 to 15: APP Tour in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Major)

Team Whitwell defeated Team Arick 5-4; Team Whitwell wins 1 point.
Classification After Two Events
1st – Team Endara with 2 points.
2nd- Teams Simon, Welsher, Whitwell, and Zickert with 1 point.
6th- Lane with zero points.
