The 2023 Leaf Pickleball Premier Edition introduces the sport’s inaugural standalone set of sports cards, reflecting pickleball’s growing popularity and integration into mainstream culture. The cards will be available from tomorrow, October 13, 2023.

While not overly intricate, the set incorporates contemporary features, such as autographs and parallels guaranteed in every five-card box.

A Significant Milestone

The base set encompasses 41 cards, marking a significant milestone for many as their inaugural trading cards in the pickleball realm. 

Prior to this, Leaf had released a limited number of individual pickleball cards. The sport has also made modest appearances in other products like the 2023 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball collection.

Each box contains one of the following numbered parallels:

– Gold Foil – /30
– Red Foil – /25
– Blue Foil – /20
– Green Foil – /15
– Green Holo – /11
– Silver Holo – /10
– Gold Holo – /5
– Platinum Holo – /3
– Black Holo – 1/1

Base Autographs Checklist

The Base Autographs checklist mirrors the parallels of the base set, with 41 names featured.

One familiar name is Drew Brees, renowned for leading the New Orleans Saints to victory in Super Bowl XLIV. However, he’s included because he also co-owns Major League Pickleball’s LA Mad Drops pickleball team, along with Zubin Mehta, Kevin Kroeger, Greg Fleishman, and Sam Casperson.

Additionally, the 2023 Leaf Pickleball Premier Edition checklist includes two rare autograph inserts. 

Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns are showcased individually on their exclusive Queen of Pickleball and King of Pickleball cards.
