Set to take place from 3rd to 6th of August at the Telford International Centre, the 2023 English Open is making history as the largest pickleball event outside of North America, with an incredible 1,059 players geared up to participate.
Four Action-Packed Days
Over the course of four action-packed days, top professionals from America and Europe will compete in thrilling matches across various categories like singles, doubles, mixed, wheelchair, and junior events. The age range of competitors spans from 7 to 70+, demonstrating the remarkable growth of pickleball in recent years.
The English Open has truly earned its place as a standout tournament on par with major events in America. With pickleball gaining immense popularity in the United Kingdom, it is now played by over 10,000 active participants in the UK, and there are 361 designated pickleball places to play across the country.
These numbers reflect an astonishing 180% year-to-date increase in member registrations, as reported by pickleballEngland, showcasing the sport’s exponential growth in just a year.
