The World Pickleball Tour is a strictly amateur tournament series that hosted 25 events in 2023 and is planning to host nearly 35 in 2024!
All of its tournament stops are considered “challenger” events. This means that every Gold Medalist from the circuit receives an invitation to the 2025 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships.
The Best Amateur Players
These championships match up the best amateur players the country has to offer as they battle to take home their share of the $175,000 cash prize purse!
One of the WPT’s main aims is to nurture the game at the grassroots level and provide high-quality and competitive experiences for all the amateur players involved.
What You Need To Know
WPT tournaments feature skill brackets from 3.0 to 5.0, with age categories of 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+ (70+ after registration close, if applicable).
Players 18 and under can register for the 19+ category, but they must be aged 8 or over to register).
All players receive a WPT player swag bag: a reusable, branded tote that contains elevated giveaway items, hydration and nutrition essentials, court fashion accessories, other player necessities, and a World Tour DRIFIT t-shirt!
Automatic Qualification
As mentioned previously, all gold medalists automatically receive an invitation to the 2025 championship event, which features the $175k cash purse.
Silver and bronze medalists also earn a spot on the waitlist for the 2024 championship event, as well as any participation in a WPT event (in that order).
