WPT Tournament Information

Surface, Nets, And Balls

The competition surface type will be pickleball hardcourt, and courts are outdoor and non-covered. All courts will use portable nets, and matches will be played with Franklin X-Performance 40 balls.

Refund Policy

Refunds in the form of credits, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations regardless of reason. These funds can be put towards the tournament fees of future events.

Inclement Weather Policy

These events will be held outdoors. If weather or unforeseen circumstances occur, the tournament team will do all it can to play matches.

There are no refunds, credits, or make-up days if the tournament is impacted by weather. There is no indoor backup plan for this tournament.

If brackets are in mid-play when weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur, the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be chosen.

About The WPT

The World Pickleball Tour is a strictly amateur tournament series hosting 25 events in 2022 and nearly 40 in 2023.

All tournament stops are considered “challenger” events, as all Gold Medalists from the circuit are invited to the 2024 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships, which will pit the best amateur players in the country against each other as they compete for their share of the $175,000 CASH PURSE at the event!

Happy Pickleballin’!

Miscellaneous Tournament Information

The following information is a guide only and is subject to change. Verify the details by following this link.

Registration Criteria

When registering for DOUBLES, the second signed-up teammate MUST register within 2 days of the first player. If a teammate does not register within the specified time limit, the first player will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

Emails will go out to both players when this happens. Once the second teammate registers, they will be moved off the waiting list IF there is still room in the event.

Bracket Maximums

If a bracket reaches the initial 9-player/team limit, please add yourself to the waitlist. Brackets will be expanded up to 11 players/teams if space is available on the event day.

Brackets that do not max out at 11 could be combined to provide all participants with the best possible playing experience. How they would be combined will be determined at the close of registration.

If brackets are combined, medals will be awarded based on the skill/age category players registered for.

Tournament Cost

The cost includes a registration fee ($60-80, depending on the period) and a per-event fee ($30).

Schedule

The schedule has been posted on the tournament website.

WPT events run in waves (8a, 12p, and 4p), and brackets are assigned to times based on the number of registrants. Therefore, times can only be established once registration closes.

Players/teams can sign up for a second bracket on the same day (the weekend after registration closes) if the times do not conflict.

Format: This will be an unsanctioned, Round Robin-style event with 8 guaranteed matches (games to 11, win by 2).

Multiple Events/Same Day: Once registration closes and the schedule is created, players can add another skill/age event to the same day of competition as long as the start times don’t conflict.

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.
