Before you blame your shoes for that beat-up feeling after a long day of pickleball, look inside them.

The flimsy factory insole may be the weakest link in an otherwise great shoe. And this doesn’t apply only to court shoes. Your feet still need support when you leave the court, whether you’re walking around town, running errands, or slipping into recovery shoes.

Eighteen months ago, I tested the CURREX PICKLEBALLPRO insoles and liked them enough that I now have them in three pairs of court shoes. I also use CURREX RUNPRO insoles in my running shoes.

So when CURREX introduced the SUPPORTSTP, designed more for everyday wear, recovery, and extended time on your feet, I was very interested.

For the last month, I’ve worn them in my Roll Recovery Superplush shoes, casual sneakers, and dressier leather shoes.

My verdict? They’re excellent.

The SUPPORTSTP combines CURREX’s Dynamic Arch Technology with a contoured heel cup, dual-layer cushioning, dedicated heel and forefoot padding, and three different arch profiles.

They feel supportive without being overly rigid, cushioned without making the shoe excessively tight, and comfortable enough that after a little while I usually forgot they were there.

And trust me: after more than four decades of wearing and evaluating athletic shoes and insoles, I’m probably even more particular about footwear than I am about paddles.

My score: 5 out of 5 balls.

What Makes the SUPPORTSTP Different

The biggest story is CURREX’s Dynamic Arch Technology.

Unlike an insole designed to hold the foot against one rigid structure, the SUPPORTSTP is intended to flex with the foot under load and reset as you move.

CURREX offers three arch profiles—Low, Medium, and High—so the support structure can better match the individual foot.

According to CURREX, the stiffness also progresses slightly by insole size to account for the relationship between foot size and body weight.

The other major element is the fully decoupled heel.

That means different sections of the insole can move somewhat independently rather than behaving like one solid plate. Combined with the contoured heel cup, it is designed to support a more natural heel-to-toe movement.

Then CURREX adds:

• dual-layer cushioning
• dedicated heel and forefoot cushion zones
• a perforated foam structure for ventilation
• a more durable upper designed for everyday wear

None of this matters if the insole feels bulky or unnatural. In my testing, it didn’t.

First Impressions

Because I was already familiar with CURREX’s fitting process, choosing mine was easy. I wear a size 12 shoe, so I went with XL and the Medium arch profile.

The insoles arrived in CURREX’s usual sleek packaging with instructions explaining how to confirm fit and trim them if necessary.

I’ve now used three CURREX models and, regardless of shoe type, I’ve never needed to trim one.

From the top, the SUPPORTSTP looks very similar to the PICKLEBALLPRO. One obvious difference is the absence of the silicone Super Grip strips used on the pickleball model to help reduce foot movement during aggressive lateral play.

Underneath, the overall design language is still familiar, but the SUPPORTSTP uses different cushioning zones and is clearly designed for a different purpose.

One other thing stood out immediately: these insoles are not excessively thick. Adding a huge slab of foam may sound comfortable, but it can also reduce shoe volume and make an otherwise good-fitting shoe too tight. CURREX found a very good balance here.

Time to put them in some shoes.

Fit and Function Testing

The first test was my Roll Recovery Superplush shoes, which I frequently wear after pickleball and around the house.

The SUPPORTSTP slid right in.

No trimming.
No strange fit.
And most importantly, the shoe didn’t suddenly feel cramped.

The stock insole in the Roll Recovery is already fairly plush, so I was curious whether the CURREX would change the character of the shoe too much.

It didn’t.

The fit remained comfortable, while the Medium arch profile gave me the same kind of support I’ve come to expect from my other CURREX insoles.

Next came a pair of casual leather shoes.

Initially, my toes felt slightly more crowded. After roughly 10 minutes of walking, that sensation went away.

I had a similar experience in my lifestyle ASICS sneakers.

What I noticed most across all three shoes was the balance. The SUPPORTSTP never felt overly soft. It never felt harsh.

There was simply enough cushioning through the heel and forefoot to make the shoe more comfortable while the arch and heel cup gave my foot a more secure, supported feel.

After a short period, I usually stopped noticing the insole altogether. For me, that’s a compliment.

Insole Performance

1. Comfort ★★★★★

This is the strongest part of the SUPPORTSTP.

The combination of cushioning and dynamic support works extremely well for general walking and everyday wear.

I particularly liked them in my Roll Recovery shoes, where they added more structured support without taking away the soft, relaxed feel that makes those shoes so comfortable after pickleball.

2. Cushioning ★★★★¾

There is enough cushioning where I want it—especially through the heel and forefoot—but CURREX wisely avoids making the insole unnecessarily thick.

That helps preserve the original fit of the shoe.

If you’re expecting a giant marshmallow under your foot, this isn’t that. I think that’s a good thing.

3. Arch Support ★★★★★

The Medium profile works extremely well for my foot.

More importantly, CURREX offers three arch profiles instead of treating every foot as though it needs the same shape.

The support feels present without locking my arch against an overly rigid platform. That dynamic feel is one of the biggest reasons I continue to use CURREX products.

4. Fit ★★★★★

Across my recovery shoes, sneakers, and casual leather shoes, fit was excellent. I never needed to trim them.

The only issue was some initial toe snugness in the lower-volume shoes, and that disappeared quickly for me.

Obviously, shoe volume varies, so this is one area where individual fit will matter.

5. Heel Support & Stability ★★★★★

The heel cup does a very good job of cradling the heel. It feels secure without being aggressive.

Combined with the decoupled heel design, the insole feels supportive while still allowing a natural stride.

6. Breathability ★★★★¾

The perforated foam structure is designed to improve airflow and moisture management.

In practice, I found the SUPPORTSTP considerably more breathable than some more traditional cork or heavily structured insoles I’ve used.

That matters if you’re spending hours in the same pair of shoes.

SUPPORTSTP vs. PICKLEBALLPRO

The SUPPORTSTP and PICKLEBALLPRO share the same basic CURREX approach, but they’re built for different jobs.

PICKLEBALLPRO is for the court. SUPPORTSTP is for everything around it.

The PICKLEBALLPRO is designed to help manage the repeated lateral movement, pivots and hard stops of pickleball. Its Super Grip surface and targeted cushioning make more sense inside a court shoe.

The SUPPORTSTP puts more emphasis on comfort, support and durability during everyday movement. That’s why I don’t see one replacing the other.

I use PICKLEBALLPRO when I play and SUPPORTSTP when I leave the court.

Durability

CURREX told me that roughly one year of use is a reasonable replacement expectation for the SUPPORTSTP, depending on use. My own experience with the brand has been encouraging.

I’ve now used my PICKLEBALLPRO insoles for more than 18 months in court shoes and haven’t noticed obvious degradation of the arch structure or major compression of the foam.

Obviously, SUPPORTSTP longevity will depend on:

• body weight
• how often you wear them
• the shoes they’re used in
• how much time you spend on your feet

But based on construction and my experience with other CURREX products, I expect them to hold up well.

Value

At $59.95, SUPPORTSTP is not cheap.

You can absolutely find everyday insoles for considerably less. The argument for paying more is the combination of:

• three arch-profile choices
• dynamic support
• targeted cushioning
• ventilation
• full-length construction
• and the ability to move the same pair between very different types of shoes

For me, the price is justified.

That doesn’t mean everybody needs a $60 insole. But if you already spend money on quality footwear and want more support than the thin stock insert provides, the SUPPORTSTP makes sense.

Are these pickleball insoles?

Not specifically.

SUPPORTSTP is designed primarily for everyday wear, walking, recovery shoes, and extended time on your feet.

For actual pickleball play, I would still choose CURREX PICKLEBALLPRO.

How is SUPPORTSTP different from PICKLEBALLPRO?

PICKLEBALLPRO is built around lateral court movement, pivots, quick stops, and keeping the foot secure.

SUPPORTSTP places more emphasis on everyday cushioning, dynamic support, durability, and walking comfort.

Do they come in different arch heights?

Yes.

CURREX offers Low, Medium, and High profiles.

Are they thick?

Not excessively.

That’s one of the things I like about them. There is meaningful cushioning without so much material that every shoe suddenly becomes too tight.

Do you need to trim them?

Possibly, depending on your shoe, especially if your shoe is more fashion forward with a narrower toe box..

I personally did not need to trim them in any of the shoes I tested.

Can you move them between shoes?

Yes.

I regularly switched mine among recovery shoes, casual sneakers, and leather shoes without difficulty.

Are they worth $59.95?

For me, yes.

There are cheaper options, but the combination of comfort, arch-profile choices, dynamic support, cushioning, and versatility makes the premium easier to justify.

Who should skip them?

Anyone completely satisfied with their stock insoles, someone seeking the cheapest possible replacement, or a person who needs a specialized medical orthotic rather than a general-purpose support insole.

The CURREX SUPPORTSTP is simply a very good everyday insole.

What impressed me most is the balance. It gives me meaningful arch and heel support without feeling rigid, enough cushioning to improve comfort without overstuffing the shoe, and enough versatility that I could use the same pair in recovery shoes, sneakers, and casual footwear.

That’s exactly where I think SUPPORTSTP fits for pickleball players. You already spend hours beating up your feet on the court. What happens after you leave the court matters too.

I’ll continue using PICKLEBALLPRO when I play and SUPPORTSTP when I don’t. For me, that’s a pretty compelling combination.
