April is National Pickleball Month, and Palm Coast, Florida, is just one of the many places that will hold special events to celebrate the occasion. USA Pickleball is also getting in on the act with some celebrations of its own.
Palm Coast
National Pickleball Month, established in 2018, seeks to unite aficionados of the sport while introducing it to new audiences and sharing its inclusive, enjoyable, and health-enhancing attributes.
Throughout April, Palm Coast will spotlight the recently revamped Southern Recreation Center, which boasts an impressive array of 12 cutting-edge outdoor pickleball courts.
As part of the festivities, the city invites residents to participate in “Welcome to Pickleball” sessions at the center. Here, certified instructors will teach the game’s fundamentals to beginners. These complimentary sessions are scheduled on Fridays and Tuesdays from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Moreover, residents keen on playing pickleball at Holland Park can do so by collecting pickleball nets free of charge from the Palm Coast Community Center.
“A Fantastic Opportunity”
“National Pickleball Month is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the joys of this dynamic sport,” remarked James Hirst, Director of Parks and Recreation. “Celebrating national months like this underscores the dedication and commitment of our City staff to maintaining Palm Coast as a cherished place to live, learn, work, and play.
“Whether you’re a newcomer to pickleball or an experienced player, I encourage you to join us, invite a friend, family member, or neighbor, and enjoy a friendly game at our new Southern Recreation Center or Holland Park.”
