The towns of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Henrico, Virginia, are holding exciting pickleball tournaments over the next few months. Why not sign up and give them a try if you’re looking for somewhere to test your skills and have a little pickleball fun in the sun?

Twin Falls

The 6th Annual Twin Falls Father’s Day Pickleball Tournament, sponsored by the Pickleball Association of Twin Falls, will be held at Frontier Park, Twin Falls, from Thursday, June 13th, to Saturday, June 15th.

The competition will feature brackets from 3.0 to 5.0. Early registration on April 30th is encouraged, as it guarantees entry to the tournament.

“It’s a round-robin format, so if we have a full bracket of 10 teams, you are guaranteed nine games,” Tournament Director Jill Skeem told KMVT. “It’s not single or double elimination, and whoever wins the most games gets a medal.”

The tournament in 2023 had a record number of participants, with 148 expanding across five different states.

“That’s what’s great about pickleball; you can play with your grandson and your son, and we can help you if you have any questions about the roles,” Skeem told KVMT11. “It’s welcoming to every bracket, and people say it’s one of the friendliest tournaments around.”

The event is $40 if you register by April 30th or $45 until the final deadline on June 7th.

You can register at picklebrackets.com and email Jill Skeem ([email protected]) for more information.

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.
