If you’re planning a trip out West to explore the nation’s Golden State, then why not bring your pickleball paddles along for the journey? Not only will this Airbnb thrill you with its cozy amenities, but it also gives you a place to practice your dinks with an incredible view of the Mojave Desert.
The Hoopa House is a beautiful vacation home nestled in the quaint, desert town of Yucca Valley, CA. Accommodating up to 12 guests, with 4 bedrooms, 6 beds, and 3 bathrooms, the Airbnb rental boasts many incredible entertainment amenities such as a large hot tub, bocce ball, cornhole, a 9-hole frisbee golf course, and *Drumroll Please* a USA Pickleball regulation pickleball court.
Location
Located on the Southwestern side of Yucca Valley, Hoopa House is perfectly secluded, offering ample privacy while also being close to surrounding attractions. Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs are only a short half hour drive away, and the neighboring historical town of Pioneertown is right down the road.
Hoopa House is surrounded by the gorgeous San Gogonio Mountain range, which is home to a diverse desert ecosystem. You’ll be emersed in the desert foliage of Joshua trees and cacti, which truly make the home feel like an oasis.
Safety Note: While the Mojave Desert is beautiful, it’s also important to understand that it home to many forms of wildlife that you may not be used to. Rattlesnakes, bobcats, and coyotes are commonly seen, so please be highly attentive to avoid confrontation. Be careful around the cacti; believe me, you do NOT want to be spending your getaway plucking out cholla needles.
Cost and Check-In
It will cost $254 per night to rent out the Hoopa House. This fee includes access to the entire property and all of its featured amenities.
Self check-in is offered, with check-in time starting after 4pm and checkout being anytime before 11am the day after your stay. The rental has a 2-night minimum stay, but Hoopa House does offer extended stay deals if you’d like to spend a lot of time getting to know the Joshua Tree area.
Pickleball and Outdoor Entertainment
Let’s talk about the star of the show: the pickleball court.

The court is located directly alongside the house and outdoor patio, making it both easily accessible and also perfect for maintaining a social atmosphere with those who aren’t interested in participating. A courtside patio area with cozy lounge chairs is the perfect spot to sip a cocktail in between games.
If you’re going all out and want to host a serious backyard pickleball tournament, Hoopa has got you covered! They made sure that the court is up to USA Pickleball court regulations, and is fenced in to ensure that you won’t be spending too much time chasing down balls.
Pickleball paddles and balls are provided for those who forgot to pack their favorite Anna Leigh Waters Paddletek.
You can break up the pickleball action with a variety of other outdoor activities. The property also offers full-size bocce ball, a 9-hole disc golf course, and corn hole. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s also Hawk’s Landing Golf Club just down the road which offers a beautiful 12-hole course.
After you’ve dominated the competition in your pickleball-bocce-frisbee-golf showdown, you can relax in a variety of ways outside. Hoopa House has a large hot tub that’s adjacent to the pickleball court, 2 cowboy-style bathtubs, a large outdoor bed, and a cozy hammock.
Rooms
The Hoopa House offers 4 bedrooms, each with a distinctive layout. Two of the bedrooms offer a large king bed, one room has a cozy queen bed that has a window overlooking the pickleball court, and the fourth bedroom has adjacent queen-sized beds.
There is also a comfy sofa bed in the living room that leads out onto the outdoor patio. All of the sleeping areas are thoughtfully decorated in Southwestern stylings with modern sensibility.
