The Houstonian Club is set to join the thriving pickleball scene with the development of a state-of-the-art $6.2 million pickleball complex featuring eight courts.
Spring 2024
The club, situated on North Post Oak Lane, commenced construction in September, with an anticipated opening date in the spring of 2024.
The complex will feature eight pickleball courts, four of which will be covered. It will also incorporate amphitheater seating for up to 300 individuals, a retail outlet offering premium pickleball gear and apparel, as well as dedicated restroom facilities.

This expansion will be seamlessly integrated into the existing Racquet Sports Plaza, which encompasses indoor and outdoor tennis courts and padel courts.
Community Engagement
Cher Harris, the President of the Club Division, was enthusiastic about this new addition, emphasizing its potential for community engagement, and anticipates year-round usage due to Houston’s temperate climate.
The Houstonian, a private health and fitness club, is nestled on a 27-acre wooded sanctuary in central Houston. Its expansive 185,000-square-foot fitness facility houses over 300 pieces of workout equipment and hosts more than 180 group exercise classes weekly.

Distinguished by its first-rate amenities and unwavering dedication to service, The Houstonian Club has achieved the esteemed status of a Platinum Club of America.
This places it in the top 5% of private clubs nationwide, and it is one of only 20 athletic clubs in the country to receive this recognition. Notably, The Houstonian Club stands as the sole Platinum Club in Houston, Texas.
Chicken N Pickle And Bumpy Pickle
Houston is currently attracting many outstanding pickleball facilities, with Chicken N Pickle, a sports-themed restaurant with outdoor pickleball courts, also constructing a new facility on I-45 in Clear Lake.

Bumpy Pickle opened in January 2022 and is notable for incorporating pickleball into the sports bar space. It immediately established itself as the area’s only sports bar and recreational facility for sand volleyball and pickleball.
Located in Houston’s Second Ward near Eastwood Park, the outside area has nine well-lit pickleball courts and five regulation-size sand volleyball courts.
