Jamie Foxx’s journey to recovery is gaining momentum following his recent hospitalization. Mere weeks after he was spotted teeing off on the golf range, Foxx demonstrated his pickleball prowess by defeating an Olympic athlete in a scratch game.
An Amazing Drop Shot
Jamie engaged in a thrilling doubles match last Tuesday, partnering with none other than accomplished NFL agent turned pickleball sensation, Ryan Sherry. The dynamic duo faced off and defeated business partner Taylor Chien and Olympic beach volleyball player Casey Patterson.
Patterson took to his Instagram to unveil a snippet of the showdown. In the clip, Foxx executes a drop shot that soars gracefully over the net before veering off at an incredible angle as it bounces, making it impossible to return.
Patterson’s caption praised the remarkable amount of spin Jamie imparts on the ball, a sentiment also echoed by the actor, who shared the post on his account.
Signature Sense Of Humor
The shot was so remarkable doubted whether Foxx had indeed executed it himself. Patterson dispelled these doubts by sharing another video from a different angle, providing an even more comprehensive view of Foxx’s exceptional skills.
With his signature sense of humor, Foxx playfully taunted his opponents after the remarkable shot, exclaiming, “I got dead balls out here! Dead balls!”
Jamie’s prowess on the court is unsurprising, considering his strong affinity for pickleball. He has even helped establish a company specializing in pickleball paddles, aptly named “The Best Paddle.”
In Good Spirits
Foxx was in good spirits despite a recent Instagram controversy where he posted, “They killed this dude called Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?” which led to accusations of anti-Semitism. He quickly clarified his intentions, explaining that the post was aimed at a former friend who had betrayed him.
Daughter Corinne had also jumped in to defend him after rampant rumors of his health post-hospitalization started to emerge. She confirmed that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks and was even back to playing pickleball.
