Yesterday, February 9th, Wolverine Pickleball broke ground at the site of their brand new pickleball facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As the pickleball community continues to thrive in Ann Arbor, this new sporting complex is just what they need.
The new Wolverine Pickleball facility will have over 39,000 square feet of space and will feature 12 designated pickleball courts.Â
The indoor facility will also have a shop where players can buy pickleball equipment and a large lounge space for socializing over drinks. Outdoors, the sports complex will have six sand volleyball and beach tennis courts, space for yard games such as bocce ball and cornhole, and another lounge area.
Popular pickleball Youtuber, Webby from EddieAndWebby, was able to attend the groundbreaking ceremony event. He got the chance to talk to the owners of Wolverine Pickleball, Leslie White and Christy Howden, where they discussed what the facility has to offer.
“We’ll have a lounge area, a tap wall with beer, wine and cocktails on tap, bocce, cornhole, sand volleyball, and beach tennis. It’s going to be amazing.”
Christy Howden, Co-Owner of Wolverine Pickleball
Howden and White first opened Wolverine Pickleball back in 2018 when they noticed that the community was in need of a place for pickleball players to play. Their current facility offers 8 premium indoor pickleball courts, but the quickly growing pickleball community made them realize that it was time to expand.
With construction under way, the new $7.5 million facility is currently set to open on September 9th of this year. Follow Wolverine Pickleball on their website for more updates about the new facility’s grand opening.
