Collier County looks set to extend its sponsorship of the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships until 2029 after renewing the contract with Spirit Promotions for another five years. The Tourist Development Council has tentatively recommended this extension, which will involve a budget of over $1.7 million. The final decision for approval lies with the County Commissioners, who will meet to vote on January 9. The course was organized by the Cần Thơ Pickleball Club and the Vietnam Pickleball Association (VPA). A project to add a dozen extra pickleball courts to an existing six-court facility hopes to address the soaring demand for court space in Lake Hallie, Wisconsin. “This will be the single biggest pickleball facility in the state of Wisconsin and Minnesota (for an) outdoor facility,” highlighted Greg Helgeson, President of the Chippewa Valley Pickleball Club, during the groundbreaking ceremony marking the commencement of construction.
