The Hub Pickleball San Diego, the premier pickleball club in the San Diego area, will be hosting a huge grand opening event TONIGHT! Major League Pickleball’s Premier Level team, the So Cal Hard Eights, will be there to play a few games against other pro players, and there will be plenty of other festivities to celebrate the new pickleball venue.
The Hub Pickleball is a massive pickleball facility with 26 dedicated LED-lit pickleball courts, restaurant, pro shop, and more. Hub members will be able to enjoy unlimited open play during their hours of operation, free weekly tournaments, social events, lessons and clinics, access to pro pickleball tournaments hosted at the Hub, and the ability to reserve courts for private events.
Players of all abilities and backgrounds are welcome at the Hub. They offer an “Intro to Pickleball Series” and “Beginner Series” training sessions for new players looking to get into the game and better learn the sport’s rules, etiquette, and strategies. For advanced players, they offer a wide range of specialized clinics and drill sessions led by world-class instructors that will help bring your game to the next level.
If you want to advance your game to the pro level, one of the biggest parts of that journey is actively participating in tournament play. The Hub plans on hosting competitive ladders and league play events where you can play against players at your skill level.
However, if you want to keep your game more casual and social, Hub leagues will still have you covered. Each league session starts with a pre-tournament party and ends with an awards ceremony, cultivating an engaging social setting for you to connect with the local pickleball community.
Admission to the grand opening event is free for Hub members and $20 for non-members, and all proceeds will go to a local California youth charity. You’ll be able to watch the pros, enter a raffle to win prizes, and enjoy food and beverages.
Did we mention free tacos for all registered attendees? Sign us up. Registration for tonight’s event is available online: here.
All four players of the Hard Eights will be there, giving you an exciting opportunity to watch the team play ahead of the upcoming MLP San Clemente tournament. AJ Koller, Lindsey Newman, Riley Newman, and Lauren Stratman will take to the courts as Team Takeya, which will face off against another team of pro players.
Allyce Jones and Jay Devilliers will also be at the grand opening, representing their Premier Level team, the St. Louis Shock. PPA Tour pro Ryan Sherry and Milwaukee Mashers’ Callie Jo Smith will join Devilliers and Jones as Team Pickle Fuel.
Who do you think will win, Team Takeya or Team Pickle Fuel? No matter the outcome, the Hub is in for some exciting matches of pro pickleball!
The Hub is also currently in the process of building the largest indoor pickleball club in the world in San Jose, CA. Hub plans on opening the new facility at some point this summer, so stay tuned to their website for more information.
