Attention to all those living in Florida, Minnesota (especially Minnesota!), Missouri, Texas, and New York. There’s a pickleball event coming to your state this month!

The Villages Pickleball Expo ’23

The Villages Pickleball Expo ’23 is scheduled for later this month in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.

The expo will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 16 at the Rohan Recreation Center.

This event, which is free of charge, provides pickleball enthusiasts with an opportunity to stay updated on technological advancements in this popular sport.

Additionally, there will be hands-on demonstrations of techniques and information about upcoming tournaments and programs.

This event includes pickleball and tennis players of all ages and skill levels. The activities will commence with a one-hour pickleball beginners clinic at 2 p.m., followed by pickleball and tennis match play from 3-5 p.m.

“Dink for Pink!” is co-sponsored by Family Power Sports and Theimer Stock & Game.

Since 2010, the ASU Office of the LWBIWH has been actively promoting women’s health in the Concho Valley through scientific research, translating science into practice, and providing outreach and services that positively impact the community.

Chicken & Pickle Fundraiser

The Southern Saratoga YMCA is organizing a Chicken & Pickle fundraiser on Thursday, November 2, at 1 Wall St, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Both members and non-members can enjoy a delectable Brooks BBQ chicken dinner and engage in an evening of pickleball, all for $35.

Minneapolis Pickleball And Block Party

A free-to-attend pickleball and dance block party is set to enliven downtown Minneapolis this weekend. This two-day event will be hosted on 1st Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets on Friday, October 6, and Saturday, 7.

The public can showcase their dance moves on Friday night in a high-energy outdoor dance party and indoor pop-up cycle class.

The following day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., pickleball courts, bleachers, and sports instructors will commandeer the block.

Saturday’s schedule:

– Professional instructors will be on-site teaching Pickleball 101.

When I first started writing about pickleball, I hadn't appreciated the huge range of related features it encompasses: from building communities and players fighting against court closures to overcoming health challenges and raising money for charity, it's a whole new world! I love the stories about the smaller towns from the farthest-flung corners of the U.S. and how those residents have adopted pickleball to create friendships and community spirit.

Improve your game and stay connected to the sport you love.
