The Association of Pickleball Players (APP), in collaboration with USA Pickleball (USAP), has introduced three significant additions to its 2024 schedule, designating APP Tour events in Cincinnati, New York City, and Newport Beach as exclusive “Golden Ticket” opportunities.
Strategic Locations
These events will take place in strategic locations and serve as auto-qualifiers, granting gold medal winners the coveted “Golden Ticket” for pre-registration in the highly anticipated 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships.
Ken Herrmann, the APP Founder, spoke glowingly about the APP holding so many USA Pickleball “Golden Ticket” tournaments:
“The APP is honored to host five of USA Pickleball’s ‘Golden Ticket’ tournaments leading into the 2024 USAP National Championships.
“These events highlight some of the top pickleball players across the country, and we’re thrilled to provide an incredible opportunity for them to participate in an event we’re all excited about.”
Pivotal Event
Following the prior announcements of “Golden Ticket” events in Sacramento (March 6-10) and Miami (March 20-24), the next pivotal event on the APP’s schedule will be the 2024 APP Cincinnati Open.
This tournament is scheduled to unfold from May 8-12 at Sawyer Point, signaling the APP’s return with another premier pickleball event along the picturesque riverfront of the Queen City.
Subsequently, from May 22-26, the APP will make a grand return to the iconic USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for the 2024 APP New York City Open.
Set against the backdrop of the legendary Arthur Ashe Stadium, this event promises top players the opportunity to vie for gold medals on a championship court.
Record-Setting Number Of Competitors
The APP’s fifth “Golden Ticket” event will occur in Southern California, with the APP Newport Beach Open scheduled for July 3-7 at the Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach.
This location previously hosted a record-setting 1,400 competitors last year, marking the APP’s largest tournament to date.

Player registration for the APP’s first two “Golden Ticket” events of 2024 is now live.
