CityPickle continues to make its mark on the pickleball scene in New York City. From their impressive summer pop-up at Wollman Rink in Central Park to their first permanent venue in Long Island City, CityPickle has dedicated itself to providing NYC with some of the best, most accessible pickleball courts around!

Now, CityPickle will open a brand-new indoor location in Brooklyn at 51 34th Street within Industry City, one of Brooklyn’s most popular art-focused entertainment districts. The venue will have seven state-of-the-art indoor pickleball courts, which will be available to the public for rental starting on November 4th.

CityPickle was co-founded by Erica Desai and Mary Cannon, who have made it their mission to share their love of pickleball with those in need of court space since starting CityPickle about a year ago. Together, they’ve been able to curate pickleball court venues that feel incredibly welcoming and community-driven.

In a recent interview with Brooklyn Paper, Cannon and Desai reiterated their goal of serving New York’s pickleball player population. They firmly believe that Brooklyn is the perfect part of the community to tap into.

“Our mission at CityPickle is to bring the joy and community of pickleball to as many New Yorkers as possible. Launching in Industry City is a milestone moment for us that marks our first ever courts in Brooklyn, and we could not think of a more perfect location and partner.”

Mary Cannon and Erica Desai, CityPickle Co-Founders

The seven new courts at Industry City bring their total to 25 courts in the New York City area, including the seasonal Wollman Rink and Long Island City locations, which have helped serve an estimated player population of about 57,000. The brand new Industry City location feels especially exciting, as they can now cater to New York pickleball players on the south side of town!

The industrial setting of the Box Factory at Industry City gives these courts a unique atmosphere. Courts nestle between giant steel beams and concrete in a room completely encompassed by floor-to-ceiling industrial windows. If you’re looking for a space with a cool vibe to get some games in, this is it.

CityPickle’s Industry City location will be open seven days a week with the following hours:

Open 11/4 – Conclusion of Season

  • Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday: 5pm-10pm
  • Wednesday & Friday: 12pm-10pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am-10pm

Courts can be reserved online up to two weeks in advance for members, and one week in advance for non members. Keep an eye on CityPickle’s website and social media platforms for upcoming special events and clinics. Pickleball equipment, including balls and paddles, can also be rented for use while you’re there, which is great in case you leave your paddle at home!

When you’re not hitting the courts, you can enjoy beverages at the venue’s bar, and there are plenty of seating and lounge areas for you to socialize between matches. These amenities add to the atmosphere and energy of CityPickle, which we think totally suits Industry City – it’s the perfect spot for a Saturday morning tournament or a chill Monday after-work practice session.

If you’re in Brooklyn this fall, be sure to stop by the new CityPickle location! For more information about CityPickle and their locations throughout New York, check out their website here.
