Carvana has partnered with the PPA Tour and Chicken N Pickle to host the second-ever Pickleball For All Mobility Awareness Clinic on August 23rd at the Chicken N Pickle location in Overland Park, Kansas. The event’s purpose is to bring awareness to the millions of Americans who live with mobility limitations.
Pickleball continues to push its boundaries to become one of the most accessible sports in the world. We’ve seen pro tournaments, such as the English Open, include wheelchair events; and there are many inspiring stories of paraplegic athletes who’ve been able to find purpose through pickleball, like Twila Adams.
Pickleball For All will include pickleball exhibition matches from pro para-athletes, including former motocross athlete and spinal cord injury survivor Taylor Nichols, as well as PPA Tour broadcaster Dave Fleming. Carvana will also be donating two sports wheelchairs to Midwest Adaptive Sports for aspiring para-athletes in the local community.
The event is free to the public, running from 7-9 pm, and players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join in on the fun. Sport wheelchairs will also be made available to youth and adults who are hoping to participate in games of pickleball. There will be food provided by Chicken N Pickle, prizes, music, and more!
