Pat McAfee and the boys pick up some pickleball paddles and hit the court!
NFL special teams legend Pat McAfee is well known for his current work as a sports analyst and talk show host on The Pat McAfee Show, which covers a wide variety of topics spanning across the world of sports.
In recent years, McAfee has been known to branch out beyond his expertise in the world of football, having even entered the ring as a pro wrestler in the WWE. Now, it seems that Pat McAfee is ready to go all in with pickleball.

During today’s broadcast of The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee opened the show by discussing a pickleball tournament that he and his co hosts put on the night before at the house they’re currently staying in for the NFL Super Bowl.
He introduces two of his co hosts, AJ Hawk and Ty Schmit, as undisputed pickleball champions before breaking into a heated discussion about what went down at their backyard-court tournament.
Newcomers to the game, McAfee and company laugh about their experiences with learning the rules of pickleball and the game’s many strategies.
“There’s a lot of things going on in the world out here in pickleball, and I’d like to let the sport know: you’ve got new fans in us. Already putting one [a pickleball court] in at the office.”

The Pat McAfee Show crew were already talking about buying different types of paddles, arguing about whether or not you can go into the kitchen, and commenting on each other’s backhand swings. It sounds like McAfee even plans on bringing in some pro pickleball athletes to hammer “dahn” the details.
“It has legs, it’s going to stay. It’s not going to be like a flash in the pan,” said AJ Hawk during yesterday’s broadcast. “We still don’t know the rules exactly, we’re still trying to figure it out. It’s a weird game, it’s very fun, and it combines everything.”
It appears that the pickleball world is also already eager to welcome McAfee. Major League Pickleball has already extended an invitation via Twitter, so don’t be surprised if you see McAfee on the court at an upcoming MLP event!
